A wind chill advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. Friday morning.
The National Weather Service in Detroit says very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills of around 15 degrees below zero are forecasted.
The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph tonight are expected to weaken to around 10 to 15 mph by daybreak Friday.
The cold temps won’t last for long. Looking ahead to next week, highs of around 40 degrees are in the forecast.
