A pedestrian was killed Monday evening on I-275 in Huron Township, according to Michigan State Police.
Police say at 10:20 p.m. troopers were called to the area of I-275 and Sibley Road due to a pedestrian on the freeway.
When they arrived they saw two males walking away from a vehicle. Neither of them listened to troopers and kept walking away.
One of the males finally stopped, was identified, and brought back to his vehicle. Troopers then attempted to locate the second male.
Approximately a quarter mile down the freeway, troopers observed vehicle debris in the roadway and observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder.
The female driver of this vehicle advised troopers that she thought she hit someone. Near the crash debris, the body of a male subject was located and lifesaving efforts were attempted until EMS arrived.
The male was pronounced dead on the scene scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
Family members of the pedestrian have been notified. Investigation is continuing.
