‘Oily substance’ found in Huron River in Flat Rock; Huroc Park closed as precaution Tuesday

The City of Flat Rock said Tuesday that an oily substance was found floating in the Huron River within the city on Monday evening.

As a precaution, several local and state authorities have responded to the scene to begin cleanup efforts and investigate the substance.

Additionally, Huroc Park is closed as of Tuesday, Feb. 22 as a precaution.
