Jalen Jujuan-Kendall Brent, 22, is facing multiple charges stemming from a Dec. 23 shooting in Huron Township.
Brent is being charged with several felonies, including assault with intent to murder, assault with dangerous weapon, felony firearms charges, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and carrying concealed weapon.
Brent is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the 36th District Court.
It is alleged that Brent was involved in a Dec. 23 shooting that occurred in the 28000 block of Glenwood in the Country Meadows Mobile Home Community.
Another person involved, a 23-year-old man from Pontiac, was taken into custody Dec. 23 after an extensive police search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies.
The shooting sent a 22-year-old Huron Township resident to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was listed in stable condition following treatment.
The shooting was not random, police said.
“I want to really thank our Detective Bureau for their hard work that unfortunately extended right through the holidays. Specifically, I can’t say enough about the terrific work and unselfishness displayed by Detective Kassem, especially throughout the last few weeks. His efforts have quietly made Huron Township a safer place to live and work,” said Everette Robbins, Huron Township director of public safety.
