Belleville man charged in connection to April 9 stabbing in Huron Township

A 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged in connection to an April 9 stabbing that occurred in Huron Township.

Maurice Lashane Turner is charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, felony assault, and habitual offender.

At 12:46 a.m. on April 9, the Huron Township Department of Public Safety responded to the 28000 block of Spruce Drive inside the Country Meadows mobile home community regarding a stabbing that had just occurred.

When first responders arrived, they found a 20-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

The man was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.

On the same day, Turner was taken into custody in relation to the incident.

Turner was treated for a non life-threatening gunshot wound sustained during the altercation.

He is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail and could face life in prison if convicted.
