The following letter was submitted by Donna Mendrysa:

My name is Donna (Puskar) Mendrysa and I am seeking a position as Trustee on the Huron Township Board. I have been a resident of Huron Township for 55 years. My husband Joe and I raised our three sons (Joey, Jeff and Eric) here and our grandchildren are now being raised here. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Psychology. I worked as a Senior Manager in the automotive Industry for over 25 years where I managed a global team and budget for more than 150 employees. I was raised in a family that believed in giving back to our community and I am proud to have served the residents of Huron Township for over 30 years.
. Huron School Board of Education (17 years)
. Township Trustee for (8 years)–Liaison for the Fire Department, Alternate for the Conference of Western Wayne
. LDFA (Land Development Financial Authority)
. Planning and Zoning Commission (10 years)
. Graduate of the Citizens Police Academy
. Coordinator for The Holiday Food Basket Program
. Shop with a Hero Volunteer

One of my top priorities for Huron Township is public safety. I am very proud of the accomplishments that were made while I was a Trustee. We now have one of the finest Police Departments we have ever had. We are at higher staffing levels with more investigative Officers and we are growing our fund balance. We also Implemented a Public Safety Director position to oversee both the Police and Fire Departments and hired Huron Townships first Full-Time Fire
Chief. As the mother of a First Responder, I understand the importance of adequate staffing for our residents and Firefighters safety. As Commissioner of Planning and Zoning, we have brought several developments that have been beneficial to our township, increasing tax base and job opportunities, including: Peterbilt Sales Office and Repair Facility, Brose, Plastic Omnium and the expansion of Set Enterprises. I also understand the importance of monitoring future growth to preserve our rural atmosphere.

The leaders of our community need to work together and have open communication with each other and the residents to ensure Huron Township remains the best place to be! I am asking for your support on November 3rd so that I can serve as your Township Trustee. I will continue to research every issue and make decisions that are in the best interest of the residents of Huron Township.

Thank you,
Donna (Puskar) Mendrysa
