There are power outages all across the state following a stormy Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A large portion of southwest Wayne County, including parts of New Boston and Romulus, remain without power Thursday morning after storms blew through the area last night.

Areas in Belleville are also without service.

A check of the DTE outage map shows over 2,000 customers in the southwest portion of the county are currently without power.

“We are currently assessing damage caused by the severe thunderstorms moving across Southeast Michigan. Estimates for restoring your power may take several hours to prepare and could change once crews arrive on scene and fully assess equipment damage. Remember to stay 20 feet away from downed power lines and if you see crews in your neighborhood stay at least six feet away,” DTE said in a statement.

The yellow portion on the map represents over 1,000 DTE customers without power.

The map cites wind damage for the majority of the local outages.

Restoration times are around 7:30 p.m. according to the DTE map.
