There is a large power outage in Huron Township due to storms that are hitting Michigan Wednesday evening.

The outage stretches from New Boston north to Romulus.

Over 1,000 DTE customers are without power due to the outage in both communities.

The DTE outage map says the outage occurred at 4:41 p.m. Wednesday.

DTE says wind damage caused the outage and that there is no estimation for restoration of power at this time.
