A company co-owned by a Huron Township resident donated their specialized cleaning services to the Huron Township Police Department recently.
ServiceMaster by DSM, owned by Rob Spradlin of Huron Township and Mike Horback of Livonia, disinfected patrol vehicles after Huron police officers came into contact with a potential COVID-19 patient.
The company offered their services free of charge.
“It’s important that we all contribute where we can during this difficult time. The saying, ‘we are in this together’ means we each have to do our part within our field of expertise to help. We understand the importance of keeping our first responders safe and healthy,” Spradlin said.
ServiceMaster by DSM has been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic since it began in March.
Their services have included cleaning detention rooms and patrol cars at other Downriver police departments, making containment rooms at Garden City hospital for coronavirus patients, and cleaning residential homes that have been contaminated by the virus.
ServiceMaster by DSM has been involved in emergency services in the southeast Michigan area, including bio-hazard cleanings and water and fire restoration, for over six years.
The company says they are trained and staffed in order to complete the work effectively and safely.
They can be reached for services at 248-987-6430.
“We cannot thank Rob and Mike enough for their contribution to our first responders. There is nothing more important right now than the continuous effort to keep them all safe and healthy as they serve our community,” said Everette Robbins, director of public safety. “Rob is very invested in our community, not only during this crisis, but also as a Reserve Police Officer with our agency. We thank him and ServiceMaster for their support.”
