Paul Novicki, a paramedic and former Huron Township fire lieutenant, died last Thursday from complications due to COVID-19.
Novicki, 51, served the Huron Township community for 26 years as a firefighter/EMT before retiring in 2018 to spend more time with his family.
He currently worked with Rapid Response EMS as a paramedic, and lived with his wife, Kristi, in Huron Township.
A small memorial service was held for family members following his death, but family says a larger celebration of Paul’s life will be planned for the future.
The Huron Township Department of Public Safety honored Novicki in a Facebook post, and said it plans to host a public parade in the future to further honor him.
A final radio call for Novicki was made Saturday night and shared on Facebook Live.
EMS services and other first responders held a parade outside of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital last week in honor of Novicki.
