Wind advisory: gusts up to 50 mph expected this afternoon

Wind gusts are starting to pick up in our area.

Southeast Michigan remains under a wind advisory through 8 p.m. Monday evening.

West winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

Damaging winds could blow down tree limbs and power lines, causing outages across the area. (More: DTE prepares for power outages ahead of high winds forecast)

Batten down the hatches!
