A little cheer and happiness is something we can all use these days.

With the COVID-19 pandemic in full swing in the US and with southeast Michigan being a hotspot for the virus, residents everywhere are feeling anxious and even depressed with the situation.

One local family is doing their part to spread good vibes by delivering pinwheel decorations to houses in the area.

Project Pinwheel Pandemic, launched by the Marvaso family, is adding color to front yards around the township. You can request your free pinwheel by visiting the project’s Facebook page.

“I wanted to share with you a community service project my two children, Ryan and Reese Marvaso are doing in Huron Township. Ryan and Reese have started Project Pinwheel Pandemic and are passing out pinwheels to friends, family and community members. They are placing pinwheels in peoples’ front yards to spread cheer and happiness during these difficult times,” said Jill Marvaso, who along with her husband, have been lifelong Huron Township residents.

Marvaso said they have over 500 pinwheels to pass out and have just reached their 200th delivery last week.

You can follow the family’s project and even request a pinwheel be delivered to your Huron Township house by visiting their Facebook page at facebook.com/projectpinwheelpandemic/.
