Huron High School’s varsity wrestling team won their third straight Huron League championship on Feb. 8.

Sophomore Alexander Carr was one of the big reasons why The Chiefs were able to edge Jefferson to win the Huron League wrestling championship this past weekend. He was able to move into the line-up from the Bteam and win an individual championship with a :56 pin in the finals.
The Chiefs had 213.5 points to 203.5 for Jefferson, 166 for Riverview, 89 for Flat Rock, 87.5 for Airport, 23 for St. Mary Catholic Central, 21 for Milan and 15 for Grosse Ile.
Carr was one of six Huron champions. Joining him on top of the pedestal were Dylan Carr ( 135), Kaleb Rosen ( 145), Alexander Carr ( 152), Nelson Poet ( 160), Cody Brenner ( 171) and Braden Damiani (189).
Taking second were Anthony Nappo ( 103) and Brendan Damiani ( 215) and Codi Clark ( 112), John Lakatos (130), Nathan Farkas ( 140) and Tyler Short (285).
