Renton Junior High musicians earn top ratings at Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association ensemble

On Saturday, Feb. 8, student musicians from Carl T. Renton Junior High School, New Boston participated in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) District 12 Solo and Ensemble Festival, held at Franklin High School in Livonia. The following students earned top ratings for their musical performance:

Division I rating (excellent):
Aaron Baynard—trumpet solo
Addison Dober—snare drum solo
Dakoda Velte—alto saxophone solo
Abigail Baziotes and Angel Staten—trumpet/clarinet duet
Liam Hilliker and Noah Myshock—-alto saxophone duet
Molly Johnston and Olivia Demick—clarinet/percussion duet
Natalie Carlile, Dakota Covieo, Diana Ilasca and Samantha Moore—woodwind quartet

Division II rating (good):
Teagan Hill and Nixie Theibert—oboe/percussion duet

Also performing well were:
Addison Dolencic, Emma James, Riley Lambert, Avery McMahan, Lila Monte, Aaron Stacy, Shayla Vandiver, Mallory Von Gerichten and Nathan Zakar.
