The holiday season is much brighter for a Huron Township resident after the community and small businesses came together to install a new roof on her house.
Huron resident Wendy Kittle, who recently lost her husband and is scheduled to have heart surgery soon, was living with a roof that was caved in and had serious water damage.
A few weeks ago, the Huron Township Department of Public Safety posted on their social media page that they needed some assistance in helping Kittle get a new roof after a tip from the community informed them about her situation.
Jay Sea Construction of Rockwood stepped up and offered to install a new roof for Kittle.
ABC Supply Co. in Taylor donated supplies, and Huron Public Safety donated $1,000 from their annual holiday charity drive.
In addition, Waste Management supplied a dumpster to the project.
