Here is a letter from the township clerk with information on Huron resident use of the Woodland Meadows Landfill:
Greetings Huron Township Residents,
Below is an updated communication from Waste Management regarding items that are acceptable at their Woodlands Meadows Landfill. Please use this information to help you handle your waste removal needs in the future. If you have any questions, please contact the Woodlands Meadows Landfill directly at the below contact information.
Landfill Vouchers are issued to Huron Township residents (2 per year) free of charge. They will be issued upon request, and expire 90 days after issue date. Proof of residency is required. You may obtain your vouchers at the Clerk’s Office located in the Township Hall, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm.
WOODLAND MEADOWS LANDFILL:
5900 Hannan Road, Van Buren Township
Van Born Road between Haggerty Road and Hannan Road Phone: 734-326-0993
Landfill Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday 7:00 am – 10:30 am.
Voucher allows up to four (4) cubic yards of acceptable material, any additional material will be charged at the gate rate.
• Materials Accepted: Household construction materials (drywall panels, concrete, and shingles) wood (plywood, paneling, etc.) fencing, stoves, landscaping materials, (railroad ties) household waste and junk.
• Materials Not Accepted: White items (air conditioners & refrigerators), large car parts (fenders, engines, and doors), liquids (paints or motor oil), chemicals (yard spray or fluids), empty uncrushed drums, compost, batteries, branches, grass clippings or leaves.
• Recyclables: Should be recycled at curb side, do not take to Woodland Meadows.
• Tree limbs, tree stumps, etc. will not be accepted at this land-fill.
