There will be an opening ceremony on Monday morning for the Waltz Road Bridge.
The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. at the bridge and the public is invited to attend, according to Supervisor David Glaab’s office.
It was announced last week that the bridge was scheduled to open on June 3.
The county closed the former 100-year-old bridge on June 1, 2017 after an inspection found the bridge bearings had deteriorated to the point that it was deemed unsafe to keep open.
Toebe Construction, LLC of Wixom, was awarded the contract to reconstruct the Waltz Road Bridge in August 2018.
