The annual Jimmy Williams memorial run is set for Saturday, May 4 at Willow Metro Park in New Boston.
The 5K run and walk is held in honor of Jimmy Williams, an honor student and exceptional athlete who attended Huron High School.
Williams died in a car crash caused by a drunken driver Nov. 18, 2012 while he was traveling with his family through South Carolina on vacation.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Jimmy Williams memorial scholarship, which will be rewarded to Huron High School seniors who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, will be attending college or a trade school in the fall of 2019, must be a school athlete, and has demonstrated leadership abilities by participating in a club or community service.
