Wednesday morning’s commute could be a tricky one.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for southeast Michigan.
The National Weather Service is calling for freezing rain and sleet starting in the early morning hours Wednesday.
Widespread freezing rain, with some sleet, is expected to spread across the area tonight through Wednesday morning.
The potentially dangerous weather event will effect portions of Southeast Michigan along and south of the I-69 corridor between 1 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Total ice accumulations of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch are expected.
There may be a change over to rain before ending in the afternoon due to warming temperatures.
Hazardous and slick travel conditions are likely, especially on untreated roadways, bridges, exit ramps, and overpasses.
Motorists should anticipate driving conditions that will vary.
