Wayne County Roads will be out treating back roads in the county Thursday night and into Friday.
Several township gravel roads iced over during Tuesday’s bout of freezing rain and sleet, causing a dangerous situation for drivers.
Whitney Lewis, director of communications and community outreach for Wayne County DPS, said the county is currently working on treating gravel roads, but it poses a challenge.
“Our Wayne County salt trucks have been out in all districts yesterday and will be treating the roads again tonight and tomorrow. The recent icy weather have made the roads (especially gravel) a challenge but our drivers are doing their very best to address the icy conditions. We will continue to work diligently until all gravel roads have been treated and made safe for travel. These roads should be addressed this week. We thank the residents in Huron Township for their patience,” she said.
