Update, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday:
After freezing rain and sleet pelted the region on Tuesday night, Detroit Metro Airport closed down to all air traffic for about 14 hours until reopening Wednesday morning.
As of 10 a.m., the airport is reported as being open.
The closure caused several flight diversions and delays.
Airport crews worked during the closure to get the airport up and running.
