No-one was injured in a house fire that occurred on Bryan Street in the Waltz Woods subdivision Tuesday evening.
Public Safety Director Everette Robbins said the family living in the home was able to notice the fire and get out safely around 7:30 p.m.
The house was badly damaged during the fire, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
A thunderstorm was in the area before the fire started, and investigators are looking into the possibility of a lightning strike or other electrical issue as a potential cause.
“All of our firefighting staff was activated during this incident, and Ash Township firefighters were called in for mutual aid since it was a structure fire,” Robbins said. “We thank Ash Township Fire Department for their help,” he said.
