Huron Township police say the investigation into a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning that sent one man to the hospital is ongoing.
Public Safety Director Everette Robbins said Friday that the investigation remains open and detailed information could not be released to the public.
“The detective bureau is currently working on the case,” Robbins said. “We will continue to keep the community informed about this incident as information becomes available.”
Huron Township dispatch received a 911 call early Tuesday morning from a 41-year-old Riverview man who said he was just shot by an unknown person as he was driving near the 27500 block of Huron River Drive.
After being shot, the victim and a passenger who was with him stopped their car and the passenger ran to a nearby house and called 911.
The man was then transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
“We ask the community to stay vigilant and remain aware of their surroundings,” Robbins said Tuesday. “We further ask that if anyone should see anything suspicious or have any information on this incident, please call our department immediately.”
Information regarding this investigation can be directed to the Huron Township Police Department Detective Bureau at 734-753-4400.
