Two men have been arrested for their involvement in an alleged shooting that took place Wednesday at Quality Pipe Products in New Boston.
No-one was injured during the shooting, and police do not believe the intent of the shooting was to injure or kill anyone at the business.
Jeffery Hamilton, 44, from Wyandotte, an employee at the business, is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice.
Roger Melton, 67, a resident of Bloomfield Village and owner of Quality Pipe Products, is being charged with obstruction of justice.
Both posted bond and were released from police custody.
At 1:54p.m. Wednesday, Huron Township police and a SWAT team responded to Quality Pipe Products near Huron River Drive and Pennsylvania Road in reference to an active shooter incident that was in progress.
Roads in the area were closed during the emergency response, and a police command post was setup in a nearby Dollar General store as the incident unfolded.
After the all clear was given, police said they were speaking with a person of interest. The person of interest was released Wednesday.
Public Safety Director Everette Robbins said police and detectives worked through the evening Wednesday and into Thursday morning gathering information and interviewing witnesses.
At the scene, police recovered a rifle they believe was used during the incident.
Both men posted bond and were released from custody.
