Police say school is safe to attend after a student found the word “bomb” written on a wall inside of a bathroom at Huron High School Monday afternoon.
Huron Township Police Chief Everette Robbins says the word did not indicate a specific threat, and that threat assessment protocols were put into place after the graffiti was reported.
“I believe that it is safe for students to attend school tomorrow. We will continue to investigate and inform the residents when additional information is available,” he said.
The student found the graffiti at about 2:30 p.m. and it is unknown how long the word was written on the wall.
The investigation is ongoing and involves Huron Township Police Department’s school resource officer, detective bureau, and the Huron school administration.
Based on the timing of the graffiti being reported, the students were dismissed in the normal fashion without incident Monday afternoon.
