On Sept. 30, the Huron Township Public Safety team participated in the Heroes on Hines 5k Run. All proceeds from this event go to the long-term maintenance and upkeep of the First Responders Memorial located at the corner of Hines Drive and Haggerty Road in Plymouth Township. It was a wonderful event for our department to participate in. Watch for more details in the Spring of 2018.

The Huron Township Public Safety Team consisted of Sgt. Jon Bettendorf, Officer Troy Rickelmann, Dispatcher Melissa Hunt, Dispatcher Brandi Perkins, Dispatcher Pamela Harper, Records Clerk Alexis Powell and their supportive family and friends. A total of 12 people represented our department.

Through hard work, and perseverance, The Huron Township of Public Safety was awarded the Mixed Team trophy. This trophy is awarded to the department with the four fastest personnel in the 5k run (2 male, 2 female).

“We look forward to participating in next year’s event and defending our title. We would also love to have the community support us by running with us next year. If we have the most participation from our community, we would win the Community Spirit Award. Come run with a Hero!” said Huron Township Department of Public Safety Dispatcher Pam Harper.

“Once again, our staff represented us well. I am proud of their team work and efforts,” said Public Safety Director Everette Robbins.
