Committee seeking donations to renovate Miller Elementary’s playground

This year, Miller Elementary has formed a Playground Restoration Committee, recognizing the importance of physical activity, fun, and safety at school. In alignment with our motto, “Completely Committed to Kids!”, we have a strong need to renovate the existing playground equipment and create a playscape that is of adequate size, age appropriate, safe, and of course, fun for our students. The new playground will comply with current playground safety standards, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and will be manufactured in the USA.

At this time, we are reaching out to our families and community businesses and asking for your financial support. The goal is to charitably raise $50,000. Our school district has generously offered to match each donation to help complete the construction of this project! Any unused or additional funds collected will be applied to a playground maintenance fund.

Ideally, the MPRC hopes to bring the new playground to Miller in time for the 2018-2019 school year, and we ask for your support. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us reach our goal of providing a new playground for all the children of our community and their families.

To donate to the playground fund, please send a check payable to Miller Elementary with “playground” noted on the memo line, attn: Meghan McPherson. Donations can be dropped off at Miller or mailed to: Miller Elementary, 18955 Hannan Road, New Boston, MI 48164. Upon the receipt of your donation, we will happily provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. Thank you in advance for your support!

To show appreciation for your support, all donors will be recognized in the monthly Pony Express newsletter and on various Miller Facebook pages. Donations will be leveled as follows: bronze ($150 – $499), silver ($500 – $999), gold ($1,000 – $2,499), platinum ($2,500 – $4,999), and diamond ($5,000 or more). Bronze and silver level donations will receive a brick paver on the playground. Gold, platinum, and diamond donors will receive signage along the fence surrounding the area.

If you have any questions regarding the playground, would like to help, or are interested in donating, please contact Meghan McPherson at
