The fourth annual Jimmy Williams memorial run raised $11,000 in scholarships that were awarded to 11 Huron High School seniors this year.

The run, held May 6 at Willow Metro Park in New Boston, is held every spring in honor of Jimmy Williams, an honor student and exceptional athlete at Huron High School who died in a car crash on Nov. 18, 2012 while he was traveling with his family through South Carolina on vacation.

“In total after four years, we have awarded $35,000 in scholarships in Jimmy’s name,” said Keith Becki, organizer of the event.

183 runners participated in the event.
