It’s been a long winter, and now that spring is here and the weather looks like it’s shaping up, what better way to celebrate the change of seasons than biking to school.
On Wednesday, May 10, children and parents of Miller Elementary School in New Boston can celebrate “Bike To School Day 2017” by riding to school in style.
Sponsored by the Roll Models Bike Shop of Allen Park and the Huron Township Police Department, the cycling club will lead a bike train to Miller Elementary in the morning and then back again in the afternoon.
The bike train will start at 7:30am in Canterbury Gardens subdivision, go through Whispering Willows, then north along Otter Road to Judd Road, through Lower Huron Metropark and downtown New Boston, and on to Miller.
Students are welcome to join at the start or at any point along the route. We will reverse the route on the way home after school lets out.
Parents are encouraged to ride along with your child, but are not required to do so. Helmets are required for everyone on the ride.
Full information about the event, including a digital map of the route, can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/MillerBike2017.
