High wind warning in effect until late Wednesday

A high wind warning has been issued for all of southeast Michigan, according to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac.

The warning is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.

Strong wind gusts around 40 mph on Tuesday will diminish during the afternoon and then redevelop even stronger Wednesday, the weather service says.

Westerly wind gusts frequently greater than 50 mph are expected by late Wednesday morning.

Gusts near 60 mph are also possible throughout the advisory time. 

Sustained winds will stay near 30 mph all day Wednesday. 

Tree damage and numerous power outages will be possible as well as some minor structural damage.
