Romulus police ask public to help find vehicle involved in Friday evening hit-and-run

Romulus police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash on Friday, Feb. 10 that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

According to police, someone driving a tan or beige Buick Rendezvous hit a 43-year-old man just after 7 p.m. while he was walking on the west shoulder of southbound Middle Belt Road, between Eureka and Pennsylvania Road.

Police say after the driver of the Buick hit the man, it continued to drive south on Middle Belt toward Pennsylvania Road.

The vehicle is missing its passenger-side rear view mirror, and there is likely extensive damage to the front end’s headlight assembly.

Police did not release further information about the injured man’s condition as of Monday morning.

Witnesses or anyone with further information should call Romulus Police Traffic Bureau at 734-955-8839.
