State reps to host community meeting regarding downriver water issues

State Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown Township) will host a community meeting on Monday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Brownstown Community Center, 21311 Telegraph Road in Brownstown Township.

The purpose of the meeting is to educate Downriver residents about how water is treated and delivered to homes, and to hear a report about last month’s water quality issues.

Joining Camilleri will be state Reps. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park), Erika Geiss (D-Taylor) and Frank Liberati (D-Allen Park); Cheryl Porter, chief operating officer for water and field services at the Great Lakes Water Authority; and representatives from the Department of Environmental Quality Southeast Michigan District Office.
