A string of truck and snowplow thefts have occurred in Huron Township within the past week, according to police.

Public Safety Director Everette Robbins says all of the vehicles we early to mid-2000s models and were equipped with snow plowing equipment and attachments. All of the trucks were stolen during the overnight hours.

On Dec. 17, a 2001 Ford F350 with the keys left in it was stolen out of the 28500 block of Prescott. That vehicle was recovered in Ecorse.

On Dec. 19, a 2006 Ford F250 was stolen out of the 19100 block of Verna Lane and later recovered in Monroe.

On Dec. 21, a 2002 Ford Super Duty was stolen out of the 31900 block of Sibley Road.

“We asking residents to take extra precautions to secure vehicles that have snow plowing attachments. In general, we again remind residents not to leave their vehicles unlocked or leave the keys inside them. We also ask residents to report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police immediately,” Robbins said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Huron Township Police Department at 734-753-4400.
