Swift Charities and Swift Transportation in New Boston is hosting its second annual Christmas dinner to benefit military veterans on Dec. 11.
The buffet style dinner will be served from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Belleville Moose Lodge No. 934, 45476 Harris Road.
Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, rolls and desserts will be on the menu, and entertainment — including a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction — will also start at 1 p.m.
A $10 donation pays for the dinner and a soft drink. Children ages 5-10 can eat for a $5 donation.
Proceeds from the event will benefit “Pets for Vets”–a non-profit charitable organization that pairs rescue animals with veterans who have served bravely but have returned with physical and emotional injuries.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can make it difficult for our veterans to transition back to civilian life. The community can help make that transition easier by enabling veterans to receive a companion animal and make a positive difference in their lives.
Swift Charities is an arm of Swift Transportation and is a 100-percent employee funded 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity. This year, their goal is to double the donation amount for Pets for Vets. Those in the community can help by donating of gift cards, gift baskets, items that can be auctioned off, or monetary donations.
Please contact Denise Adkins at Swift Transportation for any donations or questions at 734-276-0824 or at 734-753-2323.
