A dirty event for a good cause is coming to New Boston during the first weekend in August, and as long as you’re not afraid to get muddy and have some fun, you can still register.
Muckfest — a mud run filled with several obstacles located on a 3.1 mile (5k) course, will be held at Willow Metropark on Aug. 6, and more than a thousand runners are expected to participate.
Every dollar generated from the race is used by The National Multiple Sclerosis Society to help provide cutting-edge research and to provide vital programs and services for people affected by multiple sclerosis. To date, MuckFest MS event participants have raised more than $22 million for the cause.
“No special training is required. Runners have a blast on mountains of mud and outrageous obstacles that spin, swing, and fling them up, down, and sideways,” said Muckfest officials.
