Update: The Waltz bridge is now open.

The Waltz Road bridge near downtown New Boston will close starting Friday for about ten days.

The Huron Township Police Department sent out a Nixle message Wednesday afternoon with information about the closure.

The bridge will undergo repair work during the closure, and emergency vehicles will still have access to cross if needed.

Residents are advised to use an alternate route.

The Waltz Road–Huron River Bridge was constructed in 1924 by the Wayne County Road Commission at a cost of $65,000.
