A church trailer belonging to the Southpoint Church’s Huron Campus was stolen June 2 in Trenton, according to the church’s lead minister.
Brett Kays says the trailer was parked in their Trenton location’s parking lot and was full of expensive equipment that they planned to use Sunday morning during their church service.
At about 9 p.m., surveillance footage captured a pick up truck driving off with the stolen trailer.
Kays took to the popular Downriver & Friends Facebook group to tell residents about what happened.
“Dear church tailer thief,” Kays said in the posting. “To whomever made the gutsy move to steal from God overnight by taking our trailer full of equipment for our Huron location—all the kids supplies, and the lighting we use to set up our church services in Huron High School at 10:00 AM each Sunday…we’re asking that you return it.”
“It was stolen from our Trenton location parking lot. And we want you to know God loves you, and that you can be forgiven through turning to Christ!” he said.
Regardless of the theft, the church held normal services at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
