New Boston resident Michael Roberts hit the jackpot last Saturday — literally.

The 24-year-old college student won $52,500 when he matched the five numbers drawn in last Saturday’s Fantasy 5 drawing.

He bought his winning ticket from the Huron Market, 26012 Waltz Road in New Boston.

The winning numbers were 1, 9, 12, 24 and 27.

The Lottery says that Roberts, who is working towards a bachelor’s degree in web development, plans to pay off his student loans and his car with his winnings.

Roberts’ ticket was one of two winning tickets bought for Saturday’s Fantasy 5 drawing.

The other winning ticket was bought at a Sunoco gas station located at 95 Grand Ledge Highway M-43 in Subfield, MI.

Each player will receive the same amount of winnings.
