Funeral services set for Huron Township Trustee who passed away this week

Funeral services have been scheduled for Huron Township Trustee Michael Stach, 56, who died April 12 due to unannounced circumstances.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14 from 12:30 – 9 p.m. at John Molnar Funeral Home, 23700 West Road in Brownstown.

A service will be held on Friday, April 15 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 18858 Huron River Drive in New Boston. He will lie in state starting at 10 a.m. and mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Burial will be held at Michigan Memorial Park, 32163 West Huron River Drive.

Stach, who was elected to the Board of Trustees for a partial term during the November 2014 general election, was well known in Huron and the surrounding areas for his years of community service.

He was known as a strong supporter of police and fire services, and has been a member of the Huron Township Rotary since 2010.

Stach was also a former member of the Huron Local Development Finance Authority and the Huron Athletic Boosters.

He is survived by his wife Monette and his four daughters Alexandra, Danielle, Lauren and Courtney. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Colombo and Anthony Stach and by in-laws Alex and Beverly Dakroub.
