“We have not received any similar reports to this. So far, this is an isolated incident,” Huron Township Police Chief Everette Robbins said.
Robbins says that within the last few weeks, a man knocked on the front door of the home and when the girl answered the door, he asked for a specific person who does not live in the residence.
Not long after, the man asked the girl for her name. She gave him a fake name, and the man then claimed he knew her, Robbins said.
The man then attempted to enter the home through the door.
The girl was able to shut and lock the door and thwart the mans attempt to get into the house.
He is described as white, about 6 feet tall wearing black overalls, a dark green shirt with a navy blue jacket and a black mask covering his face.
He was possibly driving a dark blue passenger vehicle, according to the girl.
“We are asking that if anyone in our community or surrounding areas has had a similar occurrence, please contact us right away so that we can take a report,” Robbins said.
“We are not sure what this person’s intentions were, but we have to assume that they were not good. We want to once again ask our residents to be vigilant and please call us if they see anything suspicious or know anything about this person or incident.”
The exact date that the incident occurred is unknown due to an initial delay in reporting to police.
