Winter weather advisory in effect for southeast Michigan; 3-5 inches of snow expected

Updated 7:30 a.m. March 1. 

A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of southeast Michigan starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday and running through 11 p.m. this evening.

Snow will be the heaviest between 4 and 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

3 to 5 inches of fresh snowfall is expected by the end of the storm.

Cautious travel is advised if you have to be out during the evening hours.
