The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch that will go into effect Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon for southeast Michigan.

When it is all said and done, 4 to 8 inches of snow will have fallen by Thursday evening, with higher local amounts possible.

Heavy snow is possible Wednesday night through midday Thursday, according to the weather service.

Precipitation will start as rain Wednesday and change to a mix then snow around sunset.

Northwest winds of 30 mph expected during the storm could lead to blowing and drifting snow.

Changes to this forecast are expected as time goes on, so stay updated as the week progresses.
