windsock-30970_1280A high wind advisory is in effect for all of southeast Michigan until 10 p.m. Friday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, sustained southwest winds could reach 20-30 mph this afternoon, with gusts reaching between 40-50 mph.

The chance for the strongest winds will be from mid afternoon through early evening, according to the weather service.

This could make for a difficult evening commute, especially if you drive a high profile vehicle.

Widespread power outages should also be expected across the region.

Wind speeds should drop by the late evening hours.
