A house fire that occurred early Sunday morning in Huron Township is still under investigation, according to authorities.
What has been confirmed by fire department personnel is that the house fire was not caused by any type of explosion.
Police Chief Everette Robbins said that dispatch received a call at 4:22 a.m. alerting them of a house fire in the 25000 block of Rust Road.
Robbins said that Huron Township Firefighters and police officers responded to the call and were on scene within four minutes.
When emergency personnel arrived, they were told that two people who lived in the home were present when the fire started, but were able to exit the home, along with their pets, uninjured.
“The investigation is ongoing. Our Fire Department is the best at what they do and they will conduct a thorough investigation. The most important thing is that this family and their pets got out of the house safely,” Robbins said.
“I have been contacted by several residents asking if the cause of the fire was an explosion. I have been told by investigators of the Huron Township Fire Department that the fire was not caused by any type of explosion.”
