A police chase through Huron Township on July 16 ended with one arrest, an injured police officer and damage to a local gas station.

Huron Police Chief Everette Robbins said that officers performed a traffic stop at the Chapp Gas Station at the corner of Waltz and South Huron Road at around 7:00 p.m July 16.

As the officer exited the vehicle, the suspect fled and in the process, caused damage to the gas station.

The suspect was caught a short time later.

The vehicle involved in the incident was towing a trailer, both of which were stolen the morning of the chase, said Robbins.

The suspect is also a person of interest in a string of recent break-ins and vehicle thefts, Robbins said.

During the incident, a Huron Township officer received minor injuries.

Huron Township Police will be submitting a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office.
