Police asking public’s assistance to help identify burglary suspect


Surveillance video provided by Huron TWP Police shows the suspect taking hand fulls of cigarettes off the shelves behind the counter.

The Huron Township Police Department is asking the public to help identify a suspect who burglarized the New Boston Stop party store on Sunday, May 24 at 2:30 a.m.

According to Police Chief Everette Robbins, entry was made through the smashed front glass door of the store which is located at 37330 Huron River Drive.

burglar_2The white male suspect is approximately 20-30 years of age. Robbins said he brought an empty garbage can with him into the store to fill with stolen goods, leaving with cigarettes valued at over $500.

The suspect was wearing black gloves, a blue face mask, khaki pants, orange shirt and black jacket with gray stripe in the chest area.

Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect should contact the Huron Township Police Department at 734-753-4400.
