With Memorial Day approaching, it’s important to honor those who have died while serving in our country’s armed forces.

Local residents will have that opportunity on Sunday, May 24 in downtown New Boston.

The Huron Township Historical Society will be hosting a Memorial Day Service and picnic from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Samuel Adams Museum, 37236 Huron River Drive, New Boston, 48164.

American Legion Veterans and the Southgate Vietnam Veterans will be on hand at the event to run the flag ceremony.

Following the service, a picnic will be held for the public.
