It’s Good news for all establishments that sell liquor and tobacco in Huron Township.

According to the Huron Township Police Department, all establishments that sell liquor and/or tobacco were tested on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 for sale to a minor.

All establishments passed the test.

“We are pleased to say that every establishment passed the test,” said Police Chief Everette Robbins.

Robbins commended business owners for their continuing attention to the matter.

A similar operation took place back in July, and all tested establishments passed with the same flying colors.

Robbins says routine operations targeting sales of liquor and/or tobacco will be initiated by Huron Township Police on a regular basis.

“Protecting the youth of our Township is a priority of our department and illegal sales to minors will not be tolerated,” he said.

I witnessed a “test” several years ago on Eureka and HRD and the Man-Boy was over 6 feet tall and weighed over two hundred pounds. He successfully bought a 40 ounce beer. I hope these current “tests” don’t entrap local businesses like this incident.
