According to the Huron Township Police Department, the 42 year old male who allegedly caused a major police situation Monday evening at the Country Meadows mobile home complex will be brought up on multiple charges.
Authorities say the man, whose name will be released Thursday morning, will be charged with home invasion first degree, unlawful imprisonment, assault by strangulation, felonious assault and domestic violence.
Police say that they responded to a 27 year old Huron Township woman’s call at 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the complex located on Will-Carleton Road. The woman alleged she was being held at knife point by her former boyfriend. After Huron Township and Flat Rock Police responded to the scene, they called the Downriver SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiation for assistance.
The woman alleged that she was being held against her will for several hours before the Crisis Negotiation Team was able to end the situation peacefully.
The defendant is expected to be arraigned in the 34th District Court on Thursday, May 1.
